Class: 6 - Lesson: 4 Browsing and Navigating Through Websites, Bookmarks, App Install and Uninstall, and Browsing History

Purpose: To learn about browsers, bookmarks, installing and uninstalling apps, and how to browse and navigate through websites.

Material Required

Any browser (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Brave, Opera, Safari, or a browser for Android).

Prior Knowledge

Students should know:

  • How to search for and download images, videos and information on the internet.

    Exercise 1



    1. Give some browser names. What is a URL? What happens when you click on a URL? What do you see in the browser?

    Exercise 2



    1. Bookmark two websites and write down their URLs, then find the websites you visited in the past two days from the browser's history menu.

    1. How do you install and uninstall application software on your system?


    Teacher Instructions
    1. Teachers should ensure that students search for useful information rather than for unwanted information.
    2. Teachers should teach how to connect to the internet and open a browser.
    3. Teachers should teach how to navigate from one page to another using the backward and forward arrows at the top left of the browser.
    4. Teachers should teach how to search for and save a specific picture or piece of information.
    5. Teach the use of the new tab option, and how to find information separately in a new tab.
    6. Teachers should teach how to bookmark a page in the browser.
